Honestly, I can't understand why we need to have a Philippine Edition of Survivor. I mean, if you want to see a REAL reality-based Survivor Philippines, just go take a stroll around Metro Manila. You have homeless people who have had to live with that condition for years; you have people living in less-than-humane conditions (home-along-da-riles, home-along-da-estero, home-sa-ilalim-ng-tulay, street kids eating out of the garbage can, etc.) who have had to live as such for as long as they can remember; and, you have the rest of us ordinary folk struggling everyday to make ends meet in the face of increasing odds.
I don't mean to dump on the show. I mean, it is an interesting show. But I just can't see the point of watching a bunch of people trying to survive in some remote (probably exotic) location in the Philippines when in the heart of the country itself you have real survivors who are far more able to live through anything a producer-chosen island/location can possible dish out.
