In this exclusive interview with ABS-CBN Interactive, Sandy recalls how she felt after finding out she got the much-coveted part, "Wow, go go go! Kasi almost one year din ako di nag-work. So I missed the camera so much! Na-miss ko sobra yung taping, shooting… At bored din ako. Kaya nung tumawag manager ko na shooting na agad bukas, tumalon ako sa tuwa!"
In Korea, it's a common practice to get artists to star in another star’s music video. Sandy considers herself doubly lucky not just to get the lead role in the video, but also to be paired opposite Top, a member of the popular band Big Bang. She and Top also have a kissing scene in the music video. When news of the kiss spread online, it caused a major uproar among Top's rabid fans who were curious to find out who she was, making “Sandara Park” the most-searched name in a Korean entertainment portal last week.
admits it was a good working experience for her, as she can see the difference between working in the Philippines and in Korea. "Sinabi ni Direk at mga staff na magaling daw ako umarte. Siyempre naman ilan movies na nagawa ko. Pero first time ko rin mag-shoot ng ganitong serious at magandang eksena. Yung hindi krung-krung! Pang drama talaga! Pero todo emote naman ako! hahaha! Kasi nung music video shoot ng ’In or Out‘ at ’Walang Sabit,’ ang ganda ko, puro pa-cute ako dun at sayaw sayaw kanta! First time ko ung todo acting sa music video kaya ibang experience din,” she admits in true Sandara-fashion.
The much-talked about kissing scene, as it turned out, was not as scary as Sandy first thought it would be. "Hindi ako nervous kasi pagdating namin sa set, yun na agad first scene na kinuhaan. Walang rehearsal rehearsal. Shoot na agad parang ang bilis nang nangyari at hindi naman ito ung torrid na kissing scene kaya ok lang naman. Eh dati nung kissing scene ko with Hero [Angeles] sa ’Bcuz of U,’ naalala ko tumatakbo pa ako mula sa buong set kasi nahihiya ako! Pero this time, di naman ako pwede gumawa nun. Medyo tumanda na ako at mas bata pa sa akin ung lalaki. Hahaha!" she recalls. When asked if it was true that the kissing scene was done in only one take, "Isang take? Secret!" she replies mischievously.
About her first pairing with Top, Sandy says there wasn't much of an adjustment since they are both handled by the same agency. "Nagkikita kami madalas sa YG office kaya comfortable talaga pero sobrang shy type kami pareho kaya quiet lang kami sa set. Haha! Medyo pareho ang personality namin ni Top. Sobrang shy type pero sa stage or sa harap ng camera, may charisma! Hehe! Pero kakaiba ang feeling na sobrang sikat ang kasabay ko at ako...? Bago pa lang sa Korea at wala pa masyado nakakakilala sa akin," she admits. Sandy also reveals that she auditioned for a role in a new drama series and hopes the music video exposure will lead to more good projects. She admits that she feels homesick and hopes to visit the Philippines sometime soon. "Gusto ko umuwi pero not now. I have so many things to do pa. Pero kung maganda ang career ko this year sana makapunta ako diyan sa christmas para mag-celebrate together. Miss ko na mga friends and fans ko!" she adds.
After promising to update us with more juicy details on her career, Sandy gives a message to her loyal fans in the country. "I'm so sorry na umalis na ako diyan pero lahat ito para sa mas magandang future and lagi ko kayo naaalala. Please don't forget about me and wait for my comeback sa showbiz! Pang international krung-krung nako! Lahat ito para sa inyo. Thank you very much. I miss you so much. Mahal ko kayo!"
