Dyesebel Synopsis: The story of Dyesebel begins when human Lucia (Garcia) delivers a beautiful yet unusual baby girl; unusual because, unlike normal babies, Lucia's child is born with fins for legs. The child is called "Dyesebel" (Rivera). And although surprised by their daughter's strange form, Lucia and her husband Tonio (Ramos) promise to love their child no matter what.

Marian Gracia Rivera, more popularly known as Marian Rivera (born August 12, 1984 in Madrid, Spain) is a Filipino actress and commercial model. Her first TV role came in 2005 via TAPE Inc.'s afternoon drama, Kung Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako. However, her breakout role did not come until she was cast for the title role in the Philippine remake of MariMar. The much-anticipated wedding between Marimar Aldama (Marian Rivera) and Sergio Santibañez (Dingdong Dantes) will be aired during grand finale of Marimar this Friday, March 14. This marks the end of the eight-month-old TV series, which topped the Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) for weekday programs for February 2008 with its 36.9 percent rating. Last November 16, 2007, Marimar reached an all-time high of 49.5 percent rating.
The wedding ceremony was shot in San Agustin Church, Intramuros, Manila, last March 10. It was officiated by Fr. Porres (played by Buboy Garovillo of The APO Hiking Society). The star-studded reception will be aired live from GMA Network’s Studio 3 this Friday.
In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) contributor Nitz Miralles, Dingdong said that he feels different about shooting this wedding scene even though he has been “married” seven times in the past. He has shot wedding scenes with other actresses such as Tanya Garcia, Maricar de Mesa, and Iza Calzado but he claims shooting a wedding with Marian is different.
“Iba ito, peak at climax ito ng love story nina Marimar at Sergio. Ito lang ang pinakagusto ni Sergio, ang makumpleto at maging masaya ang kanyang pamilya. The ultimate na ito at mixed feelings ako. Natutuwa, dahil alam kong marami sa sumubaybay sa amin ang masisiyahan, at nalulungkot din na after eight months, matatapos na ang Marimar.
“Sa ngayon, nasa taping mode pa kami ni Marian. Pero alam kong pagpasok namin sa church, and just like any actors, we’ll get into our characters. Kailangang tunay na emosyon na ang maramdaman namin. Up to the end, naging malapit sa akin ang character ni Sergio,” said Dingdong.
In the GMA-7 TV special titled Marimar…Isang Pasasalamat aired last March 9, viewers were able to see the preparations made for the grand wedding of the two beloved characters. Top designer Rajo Laurel was commissioned to do the fully-beaded silver satin gown of Marimar while Randy Ortiz designed the tuxedo worn by Dingdong.
Chosen wedding sponsors include GMA-7 senior vice-president for entertainment Wilma Galvante, Regal Entertainment’s Mother Lily Monteverde, MTRCB chairman Consoliza Laguardia, German “Kuya Germs” Moreno, talent manager Douglas Quijano and beauty expert Ricky Reyes.
Dino Guevarra and Marky Cielo served as best men while LJ Reyes and Arci Muñoz were the bridesmaids. Manilyn Reynes, who played the role of Corazon in Marimar, was chosen to be maid of honor. Marimar’s daughter Cruzita (played by Chelsea Salcedo) was the flower girl of the ceremony.
Standing as secondary sponsors were Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Tim Yap, Sheena Halili, Arthur Solinap and Rufa Mae Quinto.
Providing the music for the solemn ceremony were the wedding singers portrayed by Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid.
Conspicuously absent during the ceremony is Angelika (Katrina Halili), who is meted with a life imprisonment term. Inside jail, Angelika is forced to clean a toilet and will be branded with a tattoo bearing the name of her mortal enemy, Marimar.

GMA-7 executives formally announce casting of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes in "Dyesebel"
Mismong ang mga top executives ng GMA-7 na sina Atty. Felipe Gozon, Chairman, President & CEO; Jimmy Duavit, Executive Vice President & COO; Wilma Galvante, SVP for Entertainment TV; Lilybeth Rasonable, AVP for Drama & Entertainment; at Annette Gozon-Abrogar, GMA Films President, ang pormal na nag-announce ng pagkakapili kina Marian Rivera at Dingdong Dantes sa roles na Dyesebel at Fredo sa Dyesebel, ang bagong fantaserye ng Kapuso network.
Pero tila anti-climatic ang announcement na ito dahil marami na ang nakakaalam na sina Marian ang gaganap na Dyesebel. Sa katunayan, bago pa sa isang panayam ni Marian ay kinumpirma na nga niya na siya nga ang gaganap na Dyesebel. Hindi lang daw dahil hindi kaya ni Rhian na mag-topless kaya siya napalitan. Kasama na rin dito ang naglabasang negative write-ups sa kanya. Pero may maganda at malaking project daw na ibibigay sa kanya this year ang Kapuso network.
Sa role ni Fredo, na-consider din si Mark Anthony Fernandez. Nakita siguro ng GMA-7 management na bagay rin sila ni Marian at magkakaroon ng on-screen chemistry. Hindi na nga lang umabot na i-offer sa aktor ang role dahil may Kamandag ito at kay Dingdong na ibinigay ang role.
Ipinaglaban ni Direk Joyce Bernal sina Marian at Dingdong na para sa kanya, perfect for their respective roles. "Two years ago, nang nag-i-start pa lang ako sa showbiz, lumapit ako sa Karimadon to ask for their help kung puwedeng damitan nila ako. To my surprise, hindi na ako nagdalawang-salita, pumayag silang tulungan ako kahit unknown ako. So nitong lumalabas na ako sa Marimar at sila naman ang lumapit kung puwede akong mag-endorse ng Karimadon, siyempre po, yes kaagad ako," umpisang kuwento ni Marian nang makaharap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), kasama si Manay Ethel, and other members of the press.

"Ayoko kasing maasiwa sa mga underwater scenes na lumalangoy ako bilang sirena, e, may inilalagay pang takip sa dibdib na hindi naman ako kumportable. Kaya inilagay ko na po sa isip ko na I'll play the role of Dyesebel, normal sa kanya bilang mermaid na topless siya.
"Napanood ko yung Dyesebel ni Alice Dixson at topless po siya doon. Hindi siya conscious kaya magandang lumabas," dagdag ni Marian.
"Kahit naman magta-topless ako, hindi naman papayag si Direk Joyce Bernal, ganundin ang GMA-7, na magiging malaswa ang execution. Hindi gagawa ang network ng palabas na magpapababa ng integridad nila. Ang Dyesebel ay for general patronage, at sinisiguro kong mapapanood lalo ito ng mga bata," pahayag pa ni Marian.
Sa thanksgiving party ng My Best Friend's Girlfriend nung Sunday, February 17, na-late si Marian dahil may pictorial siya for Dyesebel. Tinanong namin siya kung nag-topless na siya dun sa pictorial.
"Yes!" buong ningning niyang pag-amin. "Ready na ako sa ganun when I accepted the project."
SWIMMING LESSONS. Bilang paghahanda sa pagganap niya bilang Dyesebel, nakatakdang mag-undergo ng intensive swimming lessons si Marian.
"Talagang natsa-challenge ako sa role kasi hindi naman ako marunong lumangoy, so mag-aaral pa ako. Sabi ni Direk Joyce, hindi lang langoy sa tabi-tabi ng dagat ang gagawin ko. Gusto niya, yung talagang underwater scenes na makikipaglaro ako sa mga makukulay na isda."
Bukod sa pag-aaral lumangoy, nire-ready rin ni Marian ang kanyang katawan para maganda ang dating ni Dyesebel sa TV.
"Okay naman ang weight ko ngayon, medyo slim pero okay naman sa TV. I measure 34-24-36. 'Pag nagge-gain ako ng waight, nagiging 36" ang boobs ko. Ang napapansin ko, kahit pumapayat ako, yung puwet ko, hindi lumiliit, 36 pa rin!" natatawa si Marian.
Marami pang naikuwento si Marian tungkol sa gagawin niyang Dyesebel, nang biglang maisip niyang, "Teka, ewan ko kung dapat ko nang sabihin sa press itong mga naikuwento ko sa inyo, kasi unless ang GMA ang unang magpa-press release, dapat confidential muna," medyo ‘natauhan' si Marian.

Ayon kay Marian, "Sinisigurado ko sa kanila na yung susunod kong soap [opera], mas magugustuhan nila. Kung nagustuhan nila si Marimar, mas magugustuhan nila yung susunod dahil pambata nga yung gagawin ko."
Sinundan naman ito ng GMA News ng tanong na, "Magkakaroon ka ba ng buntot?"
Napasigaw si Marian at natatawang sinagot, "Basta abangan na lang nila! Basta gagawin ko 'to para sa kanila dahil alam ko na sobra-sobrang suporta ang ibinibigay nila sa Marimar. Ngayon, hindi ko kayo bibiguin. Dito sa next project, mas magiging maligaya kayo, lalo na yung mga bata."
Tinanong naman ng PEP, "May swimming ba sa susunod na project?"
Muling natawa ang aktres at sinabing, "Basta abangan nila. Excited ako kasi yung Marimar iba, e. Itong binigay sa akin ng GMA-7 na next project ko, sobrang challenging para sa akin at napakahirap niya kaya natsa-challenge akong gawin yun."
At dahil ayaw talagang ibigay ni Marian ang kanyang next project tinanong na lamang siya kung marunong ba siyang lumangoy. Matipid na sagot ni Marian: "Oo, marunong."
Nasabi rin ni Marian na kilala na niya ang kanyang magiging ka-partner sa susunod na project ngunit tumanggi siyang pangalanan ito. Aniya, "Meron na pero kilala ko na siya. Abangan nila yun and I'm sure kikiligin ulit sila."
Nabanggit din namin, na pabor din si Charlene Gonzalez, isa sa mga gumanap bilang Dyesebel sa pelikula, kung sakaling si Marian nga ang magiging Dyesebel sa TV adaptation nito. Muli, matipid ang naging sagot ni Marian, "Thank you. If ever na ako nga, ha?"

Sa Meeting Room 3 & 4 sa Mezzanine ng Dusit Hotel, kung saan ginanap ang presscon, malugod na nakipag-usap si Charlene sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at sa iba pang press people na naroon.
THE "ACCIDENTAL ARTISTA." Kuwento ni Charlene, 16 years na pala siya sa showbiz. Akala niya kasi noon, matapos manalo as Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1994 at mag-compete that same year sa Miss Universe Pageant na ginanap din dito sa Pilipinas, one or two years lang siyang tatagal sa show business.
"Akala ko talaga accidental artista or celebrity lang ako," nakangiti niyang pagbabalik-alaala. "Pero until now, nandito pa rin ako, inspirado pa ring magtrabaho."
Hindi ba tumanggi ang husband niyang si Aga Muhlach na muli siyang mag-show?
"Nagulat nga ako na may VTR pala siya. Na sinabi pa niyang nagdasal siya na makapasok ako sa ganitong programa. He's really happy for me," sambit ni Charlene.
Pagmamalaki pa ni Aga sa VTR, makikilala raw ng mga manonood kung gaano kabait at kahusay si Charlene bilang isang wife, mother to their children, and daughter to her parents.
ATASHA AND ANDRES. Speaking of their children, Atasha and Andres, tanggap na raw ng mga ito ang trabaho nila ni Aga bilang mga artista. In fact, akala nga raw ng mga ito ay kasing-normal lang ng kahit na anong activity sa bahay ang mga trabahong ginagawa nilang mag-asawa.
"Noong mag-taping nga ako ng OBB [opening billboard] ng Proudly Filipina, gusto nilang sumama, kaya lang pinigilan ko," kuwento ni Charlene. "Sabi ko baka magulo sila, pero sa mga susunod na taping, isasama ko na sila."
Kuwento pa ni Charlene, normal na rin nga raw sa kambal yung pakaway-kaway sa fans. "Happy sila na lagi silang kumakaway at bumabati sa mga taong nakikita nila sa set o kahit saan kami pumunta. Feeling kasi nila, kilala sila ng lahat.
"Noon ngang pumunta kami sa States, they say ‘hi!' to everybody dahil akala nila, ganoon dapat. Hindi pa nila alam ang magnitude ng trabaho namin ni Aga. Akala nila naglalaro lang sila, like noong nagsu-shoot kami ng Jollibee commercial, akala nila we're playing with them," nangingiting lahad ni Charlene.
Tuluyan na ba nilang ipapasok ni Aga sa showbiz ang kambal after gumawa ng TV commercial?
"Ayaw na muna namin," sagot ni Charlene. "Sa commercial, very selective kami ni Aga, sa Jollibee lang talaga kami pumayag dahil ang laki ng nagawa ng Jolibee sa amin. Yung pag-aartista, siguro kapag nakatapos na sila ng college at gusto pa nila, hindi namin sila pipigilan. As of now, we have to protect and shelter them as much as possible. We want them to live a normal life."
May ipinapakita na bang talents ang kambal?
"Atasha plays the piano very well. Andres loves to dance. Nagko-choreo na nga siya ng sarili niya. Minsan nga, tinanong ko siya kung ano ang ginagawa niya dahil tahimik siya. Sabi niya, he's concentrating daw on his choreography. Nakakatuwa! Wala namang nagtuturo sa kanya. Biro nga sa akin, namana raw siguro ni Andres ang hilig ko sa pagsayaw,"pagmamalaki ni Charlene about their twins.
DOING DYESEBEL. Ire-remake ang Dyesebel ng GMA-7 na si Marian Rivera ang gaganap. Sabi-sabi ay may io-offer daw na role kay Charlene sa said soap. Ano ang reaksiyon dito ni Charlene?
"Wow! Si Marian, she's very beautiful," bulalas niya. "Bagay na bagay sa kanya ang Dyesebel. As of now, wala pa namang formality. Kung may offer man sila, if ever, why not? But I will be meeting pa with everyone. Ang commitment ko pa lang talaga, sa QTV-11 at sa Proudly Filipina. One at a time muna.
"Saka we're leaving kasi, kami ni Aga at ang kambal, for the States next month. Gusto naming manood ng fight ni Manny Pacquiao, kung makabibili pa kami ng tickets. Kaya sana, may mabili pa kami.
"Pero hindi magtatagal si Aga. Mauuna siyang bumalik dito, kasi tatapusin niya ang movie nila ni Anne Curtis, ang Waiting For You. Me and the twins will stay in the States. Matagal-tagal na rin kasi akong hindi nakakabisita sa relatives namin doon. Pero hindi rin naman kami gaanong magtatagal, kasi nga mag-a-advanced taping lang ako ng Proudly Filipina, enough hanggang sa makabalik kami ng kambal."
OF BERNARD BONNIN AND BURNING BRIDGES. Tinantiya muna namin si Charlene kung sasagot ng personal question hinggil sa daddy niya, si Bernard Bonnin, na meron daw personal request sa kanya. Ibinulong na lamang namin sa kanya ang tanong, at ang sagot niya:
"Basta, mahal ko silang lahat. Yes, why not? My dad, I love him very much. I'm happy na he's working again, napapanood ko siya sa Palos," saad ni Charlene.
Hiningan pa ng komento si Charlene kung ano ang masasabi niya na nasa iba na siyang network.
"Nagpaalam din naman ako sa ABS-CBN, dahil alam ko, maliit lang ang industry natin. Sooner or later, mami-meet mo pa rin yung mga una mong nakatrabaho, kaya I don't burn bridges. Like me, nag-start ako sa GMA-7, napunta ako sa ABC-5, ‘tapos sa ABS-CBN, at ngayon, nasa QTV-11 na ako. I can only say na, ‘ang isang magandang pamilya ay may malaking puso.'"
May sumingit ng tanong kung may gagawin na rin siya sa GMA-7.
Pagtawa lang muna naging sagot ng former beauty queen, na sinundutan pa uli ng tanong kung tuloy ang pagiging anchor niya sa Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant sa Araneta Coliseum on March 8.
"Yes, with Raymond Gutierrez and Paolo Bediones," kumpirma niya.
Napahalakhak na lang si Charlene nang i-remind siya ng kaharap na press na unwittingly ay nasagot na niya ang tanong kung may gagawin siya sa GMA-7.
