First Look at "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" Trailer (VIDEO)

Here is the new trailer for the 6th film in the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince." Actually it was unveiled online Tuesday night.

A Very Special Love is an upcoming romantic-comedy movie featuring the first team-up of Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz on the big screen. It is set to be released on July 30, 2008

Synopsis:
John Lloyd plays Miggy of the Montenegro clan, the owner of several businesses including a publishing firm that he manages. Sarah plays Laida, the breadwinner of her family. She is hired as an editorial assistant for one of Miggy's magazines named Bachelor. Miggy decides to make Laida his own personal assistant and even forces her to pretend to be his girlfriend during an event. Pretty soon, Laida's dedication to her job and the special attention that she receives from the big boss catches the attention of the other employees. She becomes the butt of jokes and gossip within the office. Is it possible for someone like her to fall in love with a guy who is a snob and a braggart? A Very Special Love is about two young people from totally different backgrounds who discover that love truly knows no barriers.

A Very Special Love Synopsis

Laida is a modern-day Belle. She works hard to provide for her family while believing that someday she will meet her prince charming and they will live happily ever after together. That prince charming is none other than Miggy Montenegro, the youngest of the Montenegro clan—a well established family in the business world. Laida dreams of meeting Miggy every day and every night. These dreams lead her to apply as an Editorial Assistant at Miggy’s newly established men’s magazine Bachelor despite it being a long shot, hoping that working in the company will allow her to be close to the man who invades her dreams every night.

By some sort of luck, Laida lands the job. Overwhelmed by the being in the presence of her crush, and by her instant employment, Laida remains blind to the fact that the Miggy she dreams of is very different from the real one. Miggy in person is a hothead who thinks he’s always right. The word “sorry” doesn’t mean anything to him. Everyone is scared of him, except Laida, who is always ready to defend her dream man. Blindly she caters to his whim, even when he sent her to be his proxy on his date with his girlfriend, breaking her heart a little. Her co-workers question her unrelenting dedication to such a monster but when Laida proves quite loyal to the man, gossip about Laida’s feelings for their boss starts to circulate. Laida, to defend herself, unwittingly reveals information about Miggy’s personal life which earns her his ire. Being shouted at for the first time by the man she dreams of opens Laida’s eyes to reality. And her awakening in turn leads to Miggy’s rude awakening of why people do not like him.

No one has ever talked back to Miggy before. No one dared tell him their opinions and or suggestions. Miggy was always right and that’s how he likes it. But when Laida, a simpleton who just follows his every command tells him to his face that he is wrong, Miggy begins to wonder if the reason for his failures could actually be him. For the first time Miggy apologizes. And this opens the door to a whole new world of a lot of “firsts” for Miggy. With the help of Laida, Miggy slowly learns to be a teamplayer. With the help of Laida, Miggy slowly learns the value of loyalty.

But Miggy’s conflict with his siblings keeps pulling Miggy back to his old ways, and not even Laida’s presence in his life can clear the shadow casted on him by his family. Laida does everything she knows just to help Miggy at the expense of time with her family. As Laida and Miggy’s fight to save the magazine become more intense, so is their fight to keep their intentions and emotions at bay. Will Laida and Miggy ever figure out the right combination to solve their problems in business and in their personal lives? Or will their mismatching personalities, despite their common interest and goal keep them from ever figuring out their perfect pair?

"My fellow Filipinos,... I am a failure. I promised a lot in last year's State of the Nation Address that went totally to Malacañang's overpriced trashcans. I thought letting the Peso value go boosting up in such a short span of time would be the pinnacle of my rotting career as your president. But alas, due to lust for money, my skills and wit as an economist, once my only weapon against my fellow presidential candidates FPJ and Erap, has waned like the "bankang papel" parody that never made it to box office. Even my trusted advisers admit to this. It's a good thing, though, that there are only a few economists in this country- this horrible miscalculation had never made it to newspaper headlines. Good thing Congress is no haven for economists, either, so it may not be necessary to explain it here now.

Indeed, I am a failure, but it is true that it does not worry me just as how it seems it does not worry much of this country. There will be some who would complain, raise their voice, but would act not that much to go against the waves. Such is the nature of the Filipino- much to the benefit of those in control, of course.

What is the state of our nation? To put it in layman's terms- The Philippines today is like a patient diagnosed with the last stages of cancer and resulting complications and now is spending it's last days in a poor provincial hospital. I, the doctor, would say she has a 50/50 chance for survival, but the machines that operate most of her internals are just ways to cheat death. I promise those concerned, though, that there is still hope. "May pag-asa pa." People are witness to a big economic crisis today, though I gladly report that most of our kababayan still believe that we are in control, just as how much they believe those tax-funded TV and printed ads saying the government is doing a great job these days. The supply of rice will never go up as real estate magnates have already ruled over agricultural lands. The prices of gasoline will never cease to go up as we cannot anymore control it- though we actually can by careful re-evaluation and forced manipulation of tax policies and deregulation to benefit the masses- only that we won't as we fear the oil cartel people would cancel support on 2010. It would be like signing our own resignation, to which my husband, Mr. Arroyo, and the rest of the Macapagal-Arroyo clan would not be so pleased. Same goes to the World Bank.

We could at least tell the big oil companies to temporarily lower the prices temporarily before a big event that will give me good feedback, like... this State of the Nation Address. The people need signs of improvement in these trying times. And they will take a bite at it just like how the cancer patient would clamour for morphine for temporary relief.

My government will continue to be PRO-POOR (applause from the audience)..., though, as this political propaganda had worked since President Aguinaldo learned the term "politics". We learn so much from the cigarette industry- say "Cigarette Smoking is dangerous to your health." but continue selling it anyway. WE ARE PRO-POOR. We sympathize with those below the poverty line, so we give them the basic needs, at the most. We shake hands with them, hug them while brewing in mind a good government TV commercial or printed ad. We can't provide them means to improve their lives- free education, for instance. We can't even put more of the annual budget to education. We don't want more smarter and more intelligent people protesting in the streets or coming up with bright ideas that would threaten corruption as our way of life. How could we promise a bright future without the need for clarification (or making it possible, even) it if we do so? The internet and the texting industry had already done it's damage- the poor isn't happy with a simple "poso" on a street corner anymore- in the more developed areas like Manila's slums, though my advisers say it's still a big hit in the far provinces.

Today, I promise a bright future. I will not provide any more details than that as doing so, like last year, would be put against me anyway. The Congress whose minds now roam in the comforts of their haciendas seem not to be affected. I have my helicopter outside to bring me back to Malacañang safe and sound, so no need to worry about tomato-stains on my limousine and my hundred thousand dollar blouse. Though hunger and slow death by financial crisis would render each Filipino hate against the country's seat of power, let me assure you that my life is in no clear and present danger. Anyway, like any other day, my office had been saved thanks to the Filipino's unique skill to forget by being overwhelmed by other concerns to divert attention. Sulpicio still rule the sea transport industry amidst it's unpopularity; the Philippines will forever be a center of natural calamities and yearly panic and damage that it causes; and TV networks will never run out of numerous showbiz scandals and Pacquiao exclusives in their sleeves. Only a few notice this trend, and I thank these people who continue to support the government by dominating much of the brains of a great part of the Filipino population.

Annabelle Rama complains about son Richard Gutierrez's "unfair" exposure in Bench Blackout

Annabelle Rama is seriously considering not to renew Richard Gutierrez's contract with Bench.

On the warpath again ang matriarch ng mga Gutierrez na nag-surprise visit sa presscon ng Regal Entertainment and Studio Max's Loving You last Sunday night, July 27, sa Imperial Palace Suites. This time, it's about the Blackout event ng Bench last Friday, July 25, sa Araneta Coliseum.

Nagkakaroon kasi ng comparison ang palakpak na natanggap ng mga prime stars who walked the ramp for the event at tila nadehado si Richard compared to the other stars. Wala kasing preparation or at least a signal na si Richard na ang lalabas kung kaya't hindi agad siya nakilala ng audience, specially with his makeup that darkened his complexion.

Somehow, prepared ang audience sa paglabas nina Sam Milby, Rafael Rosell, and Dingdong Dantes when it was time for them to go on stage. Nag-angat ang mechanical ramp pataas bago lumabas si Sam. Nasa big screen si Rafael na nakahubad at nakatalikod bago siya tumayo, at ipinakita sa likod ng translucent curtain. Nag-slide show naman ang mga posters ni Dingdong bago ito pumasok sa stage. These three actors got the biggest applause kung iku-kumpara sa pagpasok ni Richard na parang nag-last walk lang talaga at may mga babaeng models na sa stage still posing.

Paliwanag ni Annabelle sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "'Eto sinabi na sa akin ni Richard [Gomez] na nag-meeting na sila bago pa lang ang event, dapat huwag lagyan ng makeup ang mga artista para makilala sila. O kaya, lagyan ng pangalan sa screen na si ano na o si ano ang lalabas para handa ang mga tao.

"Hindi nila ginawa," patuloy niya. "Hindi lang ito para sa anak ko, para na rin sa lahat ng mga artista. Sana naglagay sila ng mga names na lumalabas para alam ng tao.

"Tanungan nang tanungan, ‘Sino ‘yan?' sabi ni Dr. [Vicky] Belo, ‘she's pretty.' Si Bubbles Paraiso na pala yung tinatanong niya. Si Nitz [Miralles, PEP contributor] nagtanong pa sa kasamahan niya kung si Richard na ba yun. Nasa malapit na sila ng stage ha, paano pa yung nasa bleacher?"



It was explained to Annabelle na never nagkaroon ng names ng mga naglalabasang artista sa mga naunang biennial event ng Bench.

"Wala na kung wala, pero bakit yung iba, ipinakita muna ang posters bago lumabas?" sabi ni Annabelle. "Hindi naman ito kailangan ng anak ko. Sabi niya nga sa akin na huwag na lang akong magsalita, pero unfair talaga ang ginawa sa kanya.

"Paano mo naman makuku-compare si Richard sa iba? Hindi naman siya naghubad, hindi nagpakita ng briefs? Hindi niya ito kailangan. Pati ba naman kasi ito pag-uusapan pa?" saad ni Annabelle, na ang tinutukoy ay kung sino ang nakatanggap ng mas malakas na palakpak.

Dagdag niya, "Si Richard, pagod na pagod, galing pa sa Greece pero nagpunta ng rehearsal nang walang reklamo at nag-stay siya talaga doon ng apat na oras. Wala naman siyang bayad dito. Wala namang bayad ang mga artista pero ginawa pa rin nila, sana binigyan na lang sila ng konting importansiya, hindi lang si Richard."

It was later learned that Dingdong was given a separate time for rehearsal dahil walang nakakita sa kanya na mag-rehearse. Nang natapos daw ang rehearsal at umuwi na ang lahat, saka naman isinalang si Dingdong.

"Hindi kami humingi ng ganito," ulit ni Annabelle. "Nag-stay si Chard ng apat na oras kahit pagod na siya. Kung may gusto silang i-promote o i-launch, sige walang kaso sa akin. Nagsabi na nga ako na huwag nang isama si Chard sa show, pero pinilit pa rin. Sige, di gawin. Pero sana nga respeto naman na lang sa anak ko.


"Si Richard dapat ang sa Jag. Hinihingi siya noon, dapat siya ang makaka-partner ni Angel [Locsin]. Nagpaalam na ako kay Dougs [Douglas Quijano], pero sabi huwag daw umalis sa Bench kasi dito siya nagsimula. Loyalty na lang daw. Sige stay kami, pero tingnan mo naman ang ginawa sa kanya?"


Along this line, someone asked kung pararampahin niyang muli si Richard sa susunod na event ng Bench, which will happen two years from now.

"Ay hindi na, tatanggalin ko na siya sa Bench!" tahasang sabi ni Annabelle. We have to repeat the question kung, for the record, aalisin na niya si Richard as Bench endorser.



"Baka hintayin ko na lang matapos ang contract. Bukas malalaman ko kung hanggang kailan pa siya," sagot ni Annabelle. At press time ay sinusubukan ng PEP na kunin ang panig ng Bench tungkol sa mga pahayag ni Annabelle.

Britain’s Got Talent Finalist Charlie Green, Visit Manila

10 yr. old Filipino-British crooner and “Britain’s Got Talent” finalist Charlie Green said that he’d love to sing with international young diva Charice.

The young man shared that he finds Charice a great singer and he would be more than willing to perform with her.

“I would love to sing with her and [I will ask her] how is it like singing with Andrea Bocelli,” Charlie said.

Charlie, his mom and dad are all fans of the Italian tenor and they all watched Charice's performance with Bocelli on YouTube, where Charlie also watched the video of Charice performance for the show “Star King” in Korea.


Gifted with a wonderful voice and good looks, the former "Britain's Got Talent" finalist arrived in Manila last Thursday, July 24 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Charlie was able to return to the Philippines with the help of Mr. Raffy Jison of The Filipino Channel.


“I like the Philippines. No, this is not my first time this is my third time, I like the weather and the people," said Charlie, who is staying in Manila until the 10th of August. He will be very busy with a lot of television guestings, particularly on ABS-CBN.

He just performed Frank Sinatra’s “Summer Wind” at ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Dream Academy Uberture” hosted by international performer Billy Crawford.

On July 26, Saturday he is set to guest in “Wowowee,” “Balitang Europe,” and Saturday entertainment show “E-Live.
He is also the special guest of Pinoy Dream Academy’s Little Dreamers, which was actually conceptualized because of him -- when he joined the BGT.

On the 27th, he will appear on weekly variety show ASAP ‘O8 and Sunday entertainment show “The Buzz.”

Charlie will also be meeting the country’s prime hosts Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda on their morning show “Boy & Kris.”

He will also visit the network’s “Umagang Kay Ganda” and radio stations DZMM and 101.9.

Charlie is also set to make a recording for ABS-CBN’s music outfit Star Records.


One of Charlie's dreams is to do a duet with his idol Michael Bublé.

“I would like to sing with Michael Bublé because Michael Bublé is great in singing, he’s my idol and I would love to sing with Charice if I could one day."

Charlie's tastes aren't limited to Frank Sinatra songs and American standards however: he likes to listen to Queen’s hit “Bohemian Rhapsody.” He also likes songs from the musical "Les Miserables."

His other dream “is to be successful in England and in the Philippines and in the world," adding that he’d like to record songs so people could listen to him everywhere--and he also wants to travel the world to do concerts.

Charlie also said that he’d like to do acting since he did theater plays before--he might even welcome a movie project in the Philippines. “I did a little bit of [acting] but I have to say that I have to practice and I have to speak in Tagalog.”

Charlie’s favorite actors are Tobey Maguire, Daniel Craig and Daniel Radcliffe of "Harry Potter" fame.

The young singer who started singing at the age of two said he really lovse to sing jazz. He's also attending piano class, valet and tap dancing. He is also into sports--his favorites are playing soccer and playing pool.

He also love Filipino foods like sautéed mongo beans and pancit canton.

Charlie who is based in England will be back to school this coming September. He is now in Grade 7 English .

Remembering BGT
Charlie made headlines when he passed the BGT’s audition at Manchester Theatre. He said his entire experience as a finalist of the popular TV talent search was unforgetable.

“Everything really. I like the first audition when all the audience stood up and that was really good; and the semi-finals when I was singing that the audience was clapping; but unfortunately the judges didn’t like it.

“I met Simon Cowell after and they said your brilliant Charie but I didn’t like the song. Yeah I really had good times in "Britain’s Got Talent."

Charlie also denied reports that he didn’t get the chance to win the contest because of racial discrimination. “No it’s not true.”

His father Roger Green even added that Charlie and Filipina mother Cecile Sumargo never experience racial discrimination.

He even said that theym do not regret what happened and there was no nastiness in the competition.

The father said that Charlie was eliminated due to a wrong choice of song.

RoboCop Will Return

MGM is now adding a new RoboCop movie to its franchise, 21 years after the first flick was released, it is said to debut sometime in 2010 and will be directed by Darren Aronofsky. The storyline has yet to be revealed but some insiders say "it will take the sci-fi vigilante classic in more of a noir direction."

The first RoboCop movie have sold over 4.1 million DVDs as of the moment.

The Russian government is trying to pass a laws that would heavily regulate emo websites and ban emo and goth dress style in schools & in government places.

The new laws are apparently being driven by fears that these "emo" encourages depression and suicide. There were mass protests by Russian emo kids this past weekend.

The Hills - Season 4 Trailer

MTV released the brand new trailer for The Hills Season 4.

Season 4 is set to start airing August 18th, 2008 with a total of 19 episodes.
