ABS-CBN management denied reports that there was a "too-good-to-refuse" offer to GMA-7 contract star Richard Gutierrez.
"There is no such "too-good-to-refuse" offer to actor Richard Gutierrez. We don't offer talents from outside to join the network," said Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN’s Corporate Communications, told abs-cbnNEWS.com in an e-mail.
The statement was rooted on an online report published April 2 that said talk of Richard transferring to the Kapamilya network is getting louder.
Osorio added that they don't do such things since artists from other networks are the ones who usually come to the station to discuss possibilities of being a Kapamilya talent.
They are the ones who usually come to us to discuss possibilities," Osorio added.
Last week, Richard also denied the report through his family's official publicist, Jun Lalin. He said there was really no offer from ABS-CBN.
In the online report, Lalin said it all started from a blind item story. The spokesman said they were surprised when it was already published that there was a story of a "too-good-to-refuse" offer.
Lalin assured that there was really no offer made by the Kapamilya network and pressed that he doesn't have the idea if there was a discussion happened between Richard and his mother network's rival station.

**Update: Regine Velasquez is staying at GMA-7 after a meeting with the GMA bosses
For weeks now, news about Regine Velasquez's alleged move to ABS-CBN has been the buzz in and out of showbizlandia. Not just Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid and Kris Bernal (?) are also rumored that they leaving the Kapuso Channel.
At first,
Regine's boyfriend, Ogie Alcasid, denied this report in his interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the audition of Pinoy Idol in Iloilo last February 2. A few days later, Ogie was interviewed again by PEP and when asked again about Regine's alleged transfer to the Kapamilya network from GMA-7, he was singing a different tune already. That time, he wasn't sure anymore, telling PEP that he was not the best person to ask.
Yesterday, February 16, ABS-CBN tendered a special presscon for Regine. No, it was not the announcement of Regine's transfer to ABS-CBN. The presscon was for her second appearance on Maalaala Mo Kaya, the drama anthology of the Kapamilya network, which will be aired on February 22.
It can be recalled that Regine's first appearance on Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2002 with Piolo Pascual in an episode titled "Lobo," won for her a Best Actress trophy from Star Awards for TV. Piolo was also Regine's leading in her first movie with Star Cinema, Paano Kita Iibigin.
In the said presscon, Regine, as expected, was asked about her rumored transfer. The Asia's Songbird neither confirmed nor denied the rumor, although she admitted that she has an offer from ABS-CBN but she has not yet decided on it.
Regine also said that she is happy where she is now. But then, she admitted, "as an artist, minsan you want to experience something else. You want growth, you want to be challenged..."
Earlier this afternoon, February 17, in the "Constellation of Stars" segment of SOP, which Regine co-hosts, the regular performers of the show sang songs talking about goodbyes and friendship. It was also evident that the main hosts—Regine, Jaya, Janno Gibbs, and Ogie Alcasid—were very emotional while singing these songs. And at some point, they tried controlling their tears to no avail, especially Regine.
In her solo number later on the show, Regine sang Whitney Houston's "Try It On My Own," which has lyrics that go, in part: "I'm not afraid to try it on my own / I don't care if I'm right or wrong / I live my life the way I feel / No matter what, I'm gonna keep it real / It's time for me to do it on my own."
After watching these scenes and hearing the meaning of the songs, many are baffled and asking: Why was Regine crying? Is it true that she is moving to ABS-CBN?
People expected Regine to answer these questions before the end of SOP. But it never happened. Regine and the rest of the hosts did not talk about it and the show ended on a happy note, with all the SOP performers singing an upbeat song.
After the show, a reporter asked Regine if she is really moving out from GMA-7. But the Asia's Songbird said that she is not yet ready to talk about it.
But according to an insider, Asia's Songbird is more likely to accept the offer from ABS-CBN. Regine could not possibly turn it down because she was told that "sky is the limit."
The multi-million peso deal, according to another source, includes Regine's own choice of show, movies for Star Cinema, and guaranteed exposure via The Filipino Channel (TFC), ABS-CBN's international channel.
Regine will have a series of concerts in Europe this year to be sponsored by TFC. This means that the singer-actress has to promote these shows on different ABS-CBN programs.
Another source, who requested anonymity, told PEP that Regine will be given a self-titled musical variety show and the title role in the Filipino version of the hit TV series Betty La Fea.
But GMA-7 is reportedly not giving up on Regine. According to some insiders from the Kapuso network, GMA-7 executives are pulling all strings to persuade the Asia's Songbird to stay.
Regine has been with GMA-7 for the longest time. Aside from SOP, she hosted Search For A Star, which later became Pinoy Pop Superstar, and Celebrity Duets with boyfriend Ogie Alcasid. She also starred in a soap opera titled Forever in My Heart opposite Richard Gomez and Ariel Rivera.
The singer-actress also did a movie for GMA-7's film arm, GMA Films, in co-production with Viva Films—Till I Met You, which served as her second team-up with action superstar Robin Padilla after Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw.
Before the news came out that Regine will transfer to ABS-CBN, she is scheduled to do a movie with Ogie for GMA Films with a working title Love Is Blind...And Deaf. Regine and Ogie were also supposed to co-host the second season of Celebrity Duets, which will begin right after Pinoy Idol.
But with this new development in Regine's career, there's a possibility that she won't be doing these projects for GMA-7 anymore.

But PEP has the inside story on how this ABS-CBN deal with Regine has been thwarted again. Kampante ang GMA-7 na kahit kumakalat ang balitang kinu-consider ni Regine ang paglipat sa Dos noon, iniisip nilang hindi ito basta magagawa ng Asia's Songbird.
For a time, parang binabalewala ng Kapuso network ito. Ayon sa source, nanliit si Regine nang alukin diumano siya ng Kapuso network ng isang bagong show na bahagi ng Dramarama sa Hapon.
Mahirap tapatan ng GMA-7 ang offer ng ABS-CBN, kasama ang multimedia deal sa recording at pelikula. Kung natuloy si Regine sa ABS-CBN, magkakaroon siya ng sariling musical-variety show, bukod sa planado ang lahat ng gagawin niya sa recording at pelikula.
In fairness sa GMA-7, inalok nila kay Regine ang hosting job para sa Pinoy Idol nang mag-fold up ang Pinoy Pop Superstar. FremantleMedia approved Regine as the show's host, kahit nga overage na ang singer-actress. Pero ang naging problema roon, hindi kakayanin ni Regine ang rigid schedule kaugnay ng reality TV singing contest. Kalahati lang daw ng schedule na naibigay ang pupuwedeng sang-ayunan ni Regine kaya nag-decide ang GMA-7 at FremantleMedia na si Raymond Gutierrez na ang gawing host ng Pinoy Idol.
Hindi hawak ng GMA-7 ang kabuuan ng schedule ni Regine kaya tiyak na magkaka-conflict. Ito rin ang naging problema nang nagtangkang gumawa ng isang soap opera si Regine sa GMA-7 noon, ang Forever In My Heart, na hindi nagtagal sa ere dahil sa erratic na schedule ni Regine.
As of 10:30 AM this morning, February 18, dumating si Regine sa tanggapan ni Atty. Felipe Gozon, ang top honcho ng GMA-7, para ayusin kung anuman ang problema. Obviously, ang pandedeadma ng GMA-7 for the past few days sa kaso ni Regine ay nagkaroon ng drastic move and decision dahil nga sa nakakaalarma ang pag-iyak ni Regine sa SOP kahapon.
Ayon sa source, walang alam na ibang dahilan ang marami sa emotional outburst ni Regine sa nabanggit na show, pero malinaw sa malalapit sa Songbird na 'yon ay luha ng pamamaalam sa Siete at sa show na talagang minahal ni Regine.
Nasa SOP din kasi ang kanyang boyfriend na si Ogie Alcasid ang mga malalapit niyang kaibigan na sina Jaya at Janno Gibbs. Bukod pa sa napalapit na rin sa kanya ang karamihan sa mga young performers dito, gaya nina Jolina Magdangal, Kyla, Karylle, Dingdong Dantes, at iba pa.
"Masakit sa loob ni Regine ang ginagawang trato ng GMA-7 sa kanya. Parang ang feeling niya, ito ba ang kapalit ng pagiging loyalistang Kapuso niya?" pahayag ng aming source.
Nagkaayos sa masinsinang usapan sina Regine at mga GMA-7 bosses. Ang immediate plan ay ang pagsisimula ng isang soap opera na pagbibidahan ni Regine, at hindi ito daytime show gaya sa ikinabuwisit ng Asia's Songbird noong una, kung hindi pang-primetime na.
Isa pang bigwig ng GMA-7, si Ms. Wilma Galvante, ay talagang nag-dialogue daw ng, "Hinding-hindi ko matatanggap na mawala si Regine sa GMA!" Ito ang na-realize nila nang mapag-alaman nilang isang serious matter pala ang paglipat sa Dos na kinu-consider na talaga ng kampo ni Regine.
Ayon sa aming source, "Hindi magiging maligaya si Regine sa paglipat sa Dos dahil makakaapekto ito sa showbiz status niya kung sakali. Walang katiyakan kung mas gaganda ba ang takbo ng lahat sa career niya despite the big offer from ABS-CBN. Pero kung ginawa niya siguro 'yon, 'yon ay dahil sa wala na rin siyang ibang pupuntahan at ang panged-deadma ng Siete sa mga naiparating niyang kahilingan ay talagang hindi rin niya matanggap."
Naramdaman ni Regine sa biglang pagtawag ng emergency meeting with some GMA-7 bosses na malaking artista pa rin pala siya sa Kapuso network na ipaglalaban ng mga ito.
Kaya, at press time, mananatiling Kapuso si Regine. Tingnan na rin lang natin kung hanggang kailan mapagbibigyan si Regine sa mga gusto niyang mangyari sa kanyang career, at kung kakayanin pa rin ng GMA-7 ang liberty and freedom na tinatamasa ng isang malaking artistang gaya ni Regine sa nabanggit na network.
Heart Evangelista Receives P.5-million Diamond Necklace from Jericho Rosales.On the eve of Valentine's day, Heart Evangelista had everything that brings sparkle to her life: her family and friends, her loving boyfriend, and a girl's best friend. On February 13, the day before her 23rd birthday, Heart hosted an intimate dinner for her close friends and select members of the press at the Ongpauco building in Greenhills, San Juan.
It was the first time that Heart's boyfriend, Jericho Rosales, was able to enter the premises since they
became a couple two-and-a-half years ago. Heart, whose real name is Love Marie Ongpauco, had a falling out with her father Reynaldo and it took them almost three years to fix the rift between them. In a PEP article published last September 2007, Heart revealed that she has reconciled with her father, bringing much happiness for the 23-year-old actress.
Wearing a white dress from Mango and Louis Vuitton shoes, Heart certainly has blossomed into a lovely young woman who has been through so much on account of her showbiz career and her one true love.
Heart-shaped balloons filled the ceiling of the living room where Heart entertained her guests composed mostly of her classmates and family members.
Former Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2 housemates Donald Geisler and Jen Da Silva came to the party together (but not as a date, clarified the taekwondo jin). Erich Gonzales also arrived that night with Kung Fu Kids co-star Matteo Guidecelli. Erich and Heart are co-stars in the mini-series Your Song, which airs for the month of February.
When PEP asked Matteo if he and Erich are seeing each other, the Fil-Italian racer-actor said that he wanted to have dinner with Erich in an Italian restaurant on Valentine's day, but she has work on that day so they will schedule it next week.
Barrio Fiesta, the restaurant owned by the Ongpaucos, catered the party's menu. Guests could choose from delicious dishes such as lechon de leche, prawns thermidore, baked penne pasta, and steak served with buttered vegetables and mashed potatoes. Guests were also given cute picture magnets as a souvenirs. In one corner, a photographer took photos of guests posing with Heart and each photo was laminated and placed inside a colorful refrigerator magnet.
When asked to give his birthday wish for Heart, Jericho gave this heartfelt message:
"Sana you see all the good things happening in your life—big or small, sana you continue to do that. Sana you continue to be happy with your life, your family, your career. Sana the whole universe will jive to fulfill your plans and dreams according to God's will for you. I pray that you will remain healthy and strong and beautiful, both inside and out. And that you will always love me."
GIFTS GALORE. Echo, Jericho's nickname, started showering his loved one with gifts long before her actual birthday. Several weeks ago, Echo separated from his band Jeans and turned into a solo artist. In his self-titled debut album, he points out that he was thinking of Heart while recording the Joshua Kadison ditty titled "Beautiful in My Eyes."
"Hindi ako nagsulat pero...I needed a love song in the album. Siyempre, inisip ko siya," revealed Echo when he was interviewed with Heart during the birthday celebration.
What else did Echo give Heart? "This one," she says, playing with the diamond-studded necklace around her neck. Echo asked help from the salespersons of La Elegancia to pick the perfect gift for Heart.
"Ang dami kong pinagpilian, ang dami kong inisip na gift...vintage cars, earrings, iba-iba. Para hindi pumalya, jewelry na lang," explains Echo.
What are their plans for Valentine's Day?
"Hindi ko pa alam pero I'm doing something for Heart Can. I'm distributing nebulizers sa mga bata," discloses Heart.
Heart Can is a project spearheaded by Heart to raise funds for underprivileged kids afflicted with asthma. Coin banks were distributed in select stores nationwide and a part of the proceeds was recently used to buy nebulizers for kids. In fact, Heart spent yesterday afternoon at the Kamuning Bible Christian Church to give away 50 nebulizers to kids suffering from the respiratory disorder.
Echo promised that they would have an intimate dinner for Heart's birthday. "We'll be having dinner with a lot of talking and titigan sa mata."
Later that night, Echo surprised Heart by arranging for a fireworks display that was visible from the fourth floor veranda of the Ongpauco building. When Heart blew out her candles at around 11 pm, the multi-colored pyrotechnics lit up the sky. The birthday girl clapped her hands in glee.
DADDY'S GIRL. During the happy occasion, Heart did not shy away from questions about her relationship with her dad, restaurant magnate Reynaldo Ongpauco.
"I think things are doing very well. Just the fact that they agreed na dito i-hold yung birthday ko, nandito si Echo... Hindi na naman galit ang daddy ko, e . In time naman daw, sabi niya. I don't want to push it.
"I'm sure my dad will ask... Hinihintay lang namin go-signal ng tatay ko. So far, so good naman. I'm sure malapit na," she says with a sweet smile.
How did Echo bridge the gap between him and Heart's father? "Kasi may Christmas card siyang ibinigay and sabi ng daddy ko, in time naman... Bago pa lang kasi kami nagbati," she points out.
In reaction to the good news, Echo observes that Heart has a certain glow about her. "Nakaka-smile na siya ng genuine and when she's happy, I'm happy."
Although Heart is still waiting for her dad to come around and finally accept Echo into their family, she states that she is very happy with the way things turned out.
"I think things are very well. This is the closest I could get to it and I'm very happy kasi this is where we spend New Year parati. This is where we always have our birthdays so it's like a family thing. Finally, nakapunta siya sa dito, ang dami niyang nakitang pictures. I didn't think it would get to this," says Heart.
For his part, Echo admits that he was at first hesitant to join the family festivities. "Siyempre, si Heart gustong i-share yung tradition ng family nila. Ito talaga ang pinagmamalaki niya. Noong una, hiyang-hiya ako talaga. Takot na takot ako...[pero ngayon] I'm very thankful and positive.
"We're doing well after two-and-half years of a hard life. I have a new album, Heart has a new show and there are more things to come."
Heart is also one of the newest endorsers of Sunsilk shampoo, along with Maja Salvador and Marian Rivera. They are paired with other global icons such as Madonna and Marilyn Monroe. "When I heard about it, sobrang na-flatter ako na I'm part of the global icons," she recounts happily.
The birthday celebrator says that this is a dream come true for her—for Echo to finally get the chance to step into her family's building. "Dream ko ito, e. Noong Christmas, hinatid niya ko dito pero hindi siya nakapasok 'tapos ngayon, kita na niya lahat, ang saya-saya!"
When the time for reconciliation and complete acceptance comes, Heart's life will definitely sparkle—just like the multi-colored fireworks that lit up the night sky on the eve of Valentine's Day.

He provides for his father, his older brother and his wife, as well as his younger brother. One day, PD Yoo Jin-ha is asked to take over the project, "Marry a Millionaire". Reluctantly, he agrees to handle the project. His search begins for the perfect man to play the 'millionaire'. His goal is to use a man who is an average worker, but can pull off the facade of a millionaire. Kim Young-hoon is that man. Although he works hard for a living, there are many who can easily mistake him for a rich guy. By chance, Eun-young is selected to be a particpant in the TV show. Although the women are not supposed to know that this millionaire of their's is just a regular worker, Eun-young knows his true identity. How? Simple. Young-hoon was her first love. After many years, they meet up again at a party. Although she didn't recognize him at first, she realized it was the young boy she had fallen in love with back in middle school. Although she says she made a mistake in liking him, being in the show with him is bringing up warm feelings once again.
Marrying a Millionaire is based on the US reality television show, Joe Millionaire.

Action superstar Robin Padilla returns to primetime television via his new action-adventure series in GMA-7, Joaquin Bordado. The show premiered last night, February 11, at No. 3 with 36.6 percent behind Marimar's 43.8 percent and Kamandag's 39.8 percent.
With the addition of Robin's Joaquin Bordado, the primetime lineup of the Kapuso network becomes more formidable. Three other GMA-7 programs made it in the Top 10: Coffee Prince (No. 4, 33.1 percent), 24 Oras (No. 5, 27.2 percent), and Kung Ako Ikaw (No. 10, 18.4 percent).
ABS-CBN, on the other hand, occupied the sixth to ninth slots. Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin's Lobo was at No. 6 with 23.3 percent; followed by
Kung Fu Kids, 21.4 percent; TV Patrol World, 19.8 percent; and Palos, 19.5 percent.
Joaquin Bordado took over the timeslot of Zaido, which ended last Friday, February 8. The metal-action series garnered a rating of 32.3 percent to finish at No. 3, behind Marimar's 43.7 percent and Kamandag's 39.1 percent.
24 Oras took the No. 4 spot with 30 percent while the primer of Joaquin Bordado grabbed the fifth place with 27 percent.
TV Patrol World and Lobo tied at No. 6 with 24 percent; followed by Kung Fu Kids, Palos, Maging Sino Ka Man, and Bubble Gang.

Arianne and Christian, they are the character in the Endless Love 4th Series entitled Spring Waltz (others are Autumn in my Heart, Winter Sonata and Summer Breeze) which will end this week on ABS-CBN 2.
For all those who can't relate here's a quick synopsis of the series. (Don't Worry, NO spoilers ahead!) I provided the One Love (OST) lyrics too!
Spring Waltz is a 20-episode Korean television miniseries that talks about the way love finds us the same way spring blossoms into our lives, bringing a sense of hope and gently embracing a long and harsh coldness of the winter as well as the loneliness in our hearts.
It was reported that the drama series has already been sold to nine countries including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines and others, which proves that this Korean novela has earned wide-spread attention from the media and the industry.
The story succeeded with Eun-young’s plane ride to Austria, where she happens to sit next to Song Ina, who is on her way to meet her childhood love, Jae-ha. However, Jae-ha (also known as Chris Y), who has now grown up to be a young, accomplished pianist in Austria, does not seem pleased with meeting Ina again after 15 years of separation. Eun-young, on the other hand, excited about her first overseas trip, bumps into Phillip (Jae-ha’s manager and best friend), who mistook her as Ina whom he was suppose to pick up at the airport. The four meet in different turns of circumstances and incidents, as the story of love, fate and destiny begins to swirl.
[Eun-young] meets Jae-ha on her train ride to a classical concert, a gift from Phillip. Jae-ha is also on his way to that concert too, in which he is performing. Though Jae-ha displayed reluctance and indifference to be friendly to Eun-young, the two are immediately attracted to each other – especially for Jae-ha, because of the way she reminded him of his long-lost childhood love (which is not Song Ina, as Ina mistakenly believes). After the concert, Jae-ha meets Eun-young again, but soon finds out that Phillip is romantically interested in her. Even with Ina by his side, and the fact his best friend is interested in Eun-young, Jae-ha cannot stop thinking about her. Eun-young, though she realizes that Jae-ha is a renowned pianist and Ina’s supposed first love, also finds herself drawn to Jaeha.

Jaeha is a talented classical pianist of the next generation who has been closely watched with deep interests and concerns by Koreans since he won a prize in a famous concert. Even though he was brought up in a rich and enviable family under his father who is a foreign diplomat, Jaeha is a lonely person having only one friend because of his eccentric and particular personality. He is a well-mannered and dutiful son to his parents and never harms others, but his piano melody always sounds sad. He is hidden in a veil showing his true feelings only to his best friend and manager, Phillip. He is a sad person keeping the secrets of the past that nobody knows although he has a charismatic personality and wonderful environment.
* Han Hyo Joo as Park Eun-young (Arianne)
Eun-young is a diligent person who works at her adoptive mother’s gimbap (Korean rolled rice) house in the daytime and sells homemade accessories and clothes at her street stand at night. Even though she could not finish her studies, she is a talented person who is good with her hands and is to be able to win the grand prize in a handicraft contest open to the public. She never looses her smile nor her dashing spirit although she lives in poverty. She has an opportunity to visit Austria from her prize winning in the handicraft contest and meets Phillip and Jaeha by fate. Eun-young who does not know of this ironic fate deeply misses Suho from her childhood. .
* Daniel Henney as Phillip
He is the only friend as well as the global manager of Yoon Jaeha. He was born to Austrian father and Korean mother and was expected to become a promising musician during his childhood. He plays the piano, the cello, the guitar, etc. Even though there are no musical instruments that he cannot play, he gave up playing music instruments. Instead, he decided to pursue his dream of a musician by becoming the manager of Jaeha who Phillip acknowledges as being a true musical genius. He is not only a considerate and warmhearted person who kindly understands Jae-Ha’s fretful personality but also is a romantic. Phillip is in love with Eun-young and despite knowing that she loves Jaeha, he chooses to stay by her side.
* Lee So Yeon as Song Ina (Yna)
She is a capable career woman who started her career from the bottom and became the director of the planning department in a leading classical record and concert planning company by her own ability even though the company is owned by her parents. Ina is a perfect woman with remarkable beauty, wonderful background, and outstanding ability, but there is only one thing that she earnestly desires for. It is Jaeha who played the piano with her during her childhood. She has exceptionally liked Jaeha ever since her childhood; thus, she gave up playing the piano and left for Canada to find Jaeha after he left Korea. She has a reckless personality to do so. However, she could not find Jaeha but completed her study in Art Business in Canada. She voluntarily tries to promote Jaeha’s debut in Korea after she happened to see an article of Jaeha activeness in Austria.
